The China-U.S. Travel and Culture Series is a celebration of Chinese and American culture, and the long-standing ties between the two countries. The series promotes the food, arts, and culture of both countries, and provides participants with a chance to learn more about China’s rich history and traditions. The conference series consists of several events and award shows held from July to October in both the U.S. and China.

The China-U.S. Culture Series

1. The Global Best Cities Awards

Great cities don’t happen overnight, and extraordinary cities deserve to be recognized for their achievements.

2. The Global Best Towns Awards

China-US Culture SummitThis year’s Global Best Town Awards celebrate the best towns America has to offer, places that provide a friendly, safe environment for families and businesses, places any person should be proud to call home.

3. China & US Culture Industry Summit

China & US Culture Industry China-US Culture SummitSummit brings together industry leaders from both countries in an effort to promote greater cross-border understanding and cooperation. Gone are the days when countries could look only within their own borders for industry growth; in this increasingly interconnected world, countries must establish strong ties with one another to foster development and growth. The Culture Industry Summit hopes to be just one in a broader series of conversations that can enhance industry in both countries, and deepen the ties between American and China—ties that will become even more important as we move toward an increasingly connected world.

4. The Golden Compass Awards

China-US Culture SummitThe Golden Compass Awards honor excellence in the ancient Chinese art of Feng Shui, a philosophy that is widely practiced throughout Asia. Feng Shui is a practice that aims to help people generate good luck, including good health and good fortune, by focusing on the underlying life-force (called chi) that flows through an area. It is believed that this life-force can influence people’s thoughts and feelings. For practitioners and adherents, Feng Shui can touch nearly every aspect of life, ranging from the layout of a room to the foods people eat and even what date they get married. The Golden Compass Awards provide an excellent opportunity for interested people to learn more about this venerable tradition.

5. The Global Film Festival

China-US Culture SummitThe Global Film Festival is a celebration of Chinese film, and a chance to present this distinctive art form on a broader international stage. While American films are known and enjoyed by audiences worldwide, these audiences are often not given the opportunity to enjoy the skill of Chinese filmmakers. The goal of the Global Film Festival is to launch Chinese cinema onto the global stage and promote stronger ties between the American and Chinese film industries.

6. The China – U.S. Travel & Culture Festival Closing Ceremony

China-US Culture SummitThe Closing Ceremony of the China-US Travel & Culture Festival includes a panel discussion between the chairmen and several different American and Chinese film studios, with the goal of promoting broader cultural awareness and acceptance between the two countries.
